EDIT: Found it on a MiGl w/ qstaff that had gotten 12 levels in staves before finding a demon trident in Lair and switching to that (not so bad with cross training), and got 14 in polearms, only to then find this bastard (sword). Trained up 16 long blades without cross training and no, I am not regretting it. At all.

Well, I did end up finding better armor in lair during this game.

But you make an excellent point. Chei would have solved this problem. And likely killed me on Orc: 4 because I ran into a group of 5 High Orc Priests and a bunch of their lesser brethren. The Smite damage was real. (PS: I survived only to die in vault because I abandoned Oka. Damn Deep Elf Blademasters...)
