Re: Best/Worst Artifacts

I thought this was a good find for level 5:
  Code:
I - the +4 mottled dragon armour "Qodoi" (worn) {rPois rF++ Stlth--}

Of course, I quickly got overconfident and smote to death by a pair of orc priests hiding behind a warrior. :roll:
In the depressing funk that followed, my luck returns to usual:
  Code:
 P - the cursed -3 pair of boots of a sewer (worn) {+Rage rElec Stlth++}

Not really from a sewer, but appropriately named, at least.
Now, back to Vehument deciding that Tornado was the perfect L9 gift for my fire/earth based DS wizard, since I didn't want Throw Frost earlier... Although that might have been a hint from the RNG, as it looks like my last mutation will be icemail that melts every time I cast any of the fire-based spells I've managed to find. :-)

Re: Best/Worst Artifacts

the +1 steam dragon armour of Appug (worn) {rF++ rC++, god gift} - carried me all the way through a 15 runer. Almost felt bad leaving Okawaru after he gave me such a glorious artifact.

the ring of Order {cTele Str+3 Dam+6 Curse}

the ring of Shonkaar (left hand) {SustAb rC+ MR SInv} - four rings in one!

the ring "Xosaph" {Str+4 Dex+4 Int+4} - ring of augmentation

Courtesy of Trog - the +2,+9 great sword "Xauleuda" (weapon) {god gift, slice, rF++ rC+ Int+3}

Well, I do seem to be surprisingly illiterate at the moment - I think it's lack of sleep.
My first go at typing that had "fugue" instead of "funk" too, which almost works.

Presumably then, it's a good thing the Orc Warrior didn't have a crossbow, else he might have shitten me. :mrgreen:

Ok, this I like a lot:
  Code:
 a - [D:18] the cursed +3 robe of Folly {Archmagi, MR- Int+5 Curse}

I guess that's an unrandart? But I think it's new.
I want to wear it, but the name has definitely worried me. If the MR- does lead to YASD, I'll post that... :evil:

Edit: Ok, it is the robe of folly. It's been changed! I love it! I think I'll wear it when I get time to resume...

That'd be pretty good for a Mage, as they don't have enough strength to carry all their spell books.

Re: Best/Worst Artifacts

Found +1 cloak of
  Code:
rF++, rC+, stealth--, Dam +3
in Zig
Spent much time thinking but decided to keep wearing +2 preservation cloak despite I had
  Code:
Cons, Dam+4
amulet also.
The problem is I already have rF+ and rC++ in lichform so I don't need the resistencies that much and since I use Ice Storm mostly and am uncannily stealthy, preservation cloak + amulet of clarity/rElec are more important because clarity is a must in lichform, I want to have my scrolls (22 identify for example), CBoE channeling and disc of storms attacks if I don't have time to use staff of channeling, not to mention it is funny to see new monsters arrive at Ice Storm location and still don't see me even being adjacent while I channel mana. For the same reason I threw away +4 cloak of Str+4, Dex+3 a long time ago. +2 AC is not worth destroyed scrolls.

  Code:
b - the +5,+6 scimitar "Newtslayer" {venom, Dex+2 Int+4}

Kind of boring usual decent caster weapon?
  Code:
155447 | D:2      | HungrySpirit: giant newt blocks the path!
155447 | D:2      | HungrySpirit: kill it with fire
155447 | D:2      | WildJhon: Fire?
155447 | D:2      | WildJhon: NOPE
155447 | D:2      | WildJhon: I got artifact for this.
155448 | D:2      | WildJhon: THE NEWTSLAYER

If i remind correctly, it was last monster i met. Totally worth not throwing it away later.
What would be fun is a God who uses piety like a fighting game style super meter. Piety decays rapidly outside of combat, builds up during fights, spend it for secret techniques and super moves.

Re: Best/Worst Artifacts

A real mixed bag today:
The excellent
  Code:
ring of Uzohinuni {rElec rC++ EV+3 Acc+4}

along with the
  Code:
amulet of Crutt {+Rage Str+4 Int+4}

Which were all excellent in carrying my MiFi of TSO to my first win. Yay!
But then (on a DEWz) I find the
  Code:
cursed -5 cloak of Gamo {MR}

Whoever this Gamo guy is, he's an asshole. Normally this wouldn't be outrageously bad, but it's trying to give me negative AC. Bloody hell!
