No comment necessary, I believe. I'm still trying to find my jaw, it dropped somewhere onto the floor. (While the -Cast does make it harder for me to use by translocations... I think it's an acceptable tradeoff, isn't it? I'm on Ashenzari, so I suppose I can just reroute my spellcasting skills into combat skills and go pure melee/throwing...)

That reminds me of the time I got a vamp tripple sword on a MiWr of Oka (with a bunch of +Str and -int gear, so basicaly a MiFi) and cleared V:5 by walking down the stairs going super saiyan and yelking you mothfuchers are all going down invoking heroism and finess, and standing on the stairs and meleeing everything untill stuff stopped coming. I did use javlins of pentitration for dealing with the stuff that could sommon tormentors though.

This may possibly be the most powerful randart weapon I've ever seen. At min delay this thing would kill just about everything before it has a chance to get off a second attack.

Not quite god-tier, but this one has a whole lot for my octopode just about to tackle the Lair runes (Swamp/Snake):

y - the ring "Hurph" (right tentacle) {rPois MR+ AC+3 Str+2 Dex+5}
(You bought it in a shop on level 4 of the Orcish Mines)

No prior rPois, MR+ puts the total to 3 pips, Dex+5 makes for EV+3, and any AC for an octopode is like the best thing ever. All this for a reasonable price of 840 gold pieces.
Spellcasting penalties, Armour skill, and strength
15 runes: 2x HuSk, Op(Mo,Tm,Wn,Fi,Wr,EE,AM,Wz,Ne), VSTm, DsTm, Dg(Sk,Tm), MuGl, GhMo, Fe(En,EE,Ar,Wn,IE)
3 runes: FoFi, OgSk, KoHu, SpCj, 2x DgGl, MiBe, Fe(Fi,Tm,Mo,Su)

Agreed, that ring is just about the best you can normally ask for for an octopode.

The strength bonus is nice for increasing constrit damage too, so everything about it is useful and it has no downsides. I would expect to wear that even as an octopode megazigger.

Ok, I have to agree. The "Hurph" ring is just about as good as it gets, octopode or not, and barring ridiculous ring luck it's even zigbustingly good, as Tiktacy pointed out.

Robustness {AC+8} is definitely god tier, but would you rather wear it instead of this one? That's a solid "god tier" test if any. At just MR++, I'd say a MR+ ring with AC+3 and EV+3 is close. And paralysis will kill an octopode in a way that it might not kill an AC-based warrior.

I found some insane stuff on a previous MfGl that I splatted the other day. A leather armor with rF+++ rC+ and I think something else. Anyway...

Just found: +1 Ring Mail of Fujai (*Corrode +Blink +10 INT +4 DEX)... I'm not sure how debilitating the corrode thing is, but anyway, I just posted this because I thought the +10 to INT was kind of crazy. Wish I was playing the aforementioned MfGl, if the corrode isn't that bad.

+1 ring mail is weak, but Dex+4 will at least give ~EV+2. That Int+10 though, for a conjurer that'd be huge. It's worth ~1.5 spell skills by itself, but the real selling point is how much it increases the spellpower.

Then I decided to clear the vestibule first after entering depths because a trove wanted the horn and got my weapon upgrade.

Then I died to boredom, the first time actually. Fighting maxed, rf/rc/rn++, mr++++, that demon whip, +9pda, 28 Int, Haste castable w/out enhancers at #######. Power on depths:2. That was too strong, even by Gr Standards.

Just found, with my FoFi on level 4 of the dungeon, a +2 ring mail Rymyh (*Confuse rF+++ MR+ Int+4)...

I know that may not be THAT great, but on level 4 of the dungeon? Well, except that confuse part - just how bad is that, anyway? I am afraid to even try something with that status. They usually tend to be good, too...

It is terrible later on, but early on (when that armor is still usable) it's not so bad since a poorly-timed confusion can be cured out of with a potion of curing, and you usually do have time to drink one at that point. On the other hand, I probably wouldn't use this armor unless I had nothing better than a robe or something - rF+++ is not much more useful early on than rF+, and MR+ is not that critical in the early game. Maybe I'd use it if you want to be a battlemage and need the extra Int.

Your starting armor is gonna to give probably more ac+ev than that.
The mr+ would help against those scary dangerous orc wizards but really not because it conveniently has *Confuse

I once got the -12 hat of hatred {Dex -8, Int -6, rF-, rC-, *Rage, *Tele, Slay -2}

As for the best, probably the Sword of Jihad while worshipping TSO.

Hats can (un)enchanted be to -7 only...
