asdu wrote:the +6,+7 demon whip of Makhleb's Fury {speed, +Blink rF+ MR Sinv Stlth++}

Not that useful for my SpVM, especially at this point in the game :(

@ MarvinPA: sure, scythes are probably the worst weapons in terms of speed/damage ratio, but still, a scythe's base damage of 14, plus 11 from the enchantment, plus up to 27 from pain? I'd like to find something like that. What I do find instead is a near infinte supply of +1 leather armors {Int-2 Dex+1} or worthless crap like that.

That is easily the best demonwhip I have ever seen.

For me, I once found a crossbow of penetration with +6, +11, relec rpoison +blink and a bunch of other shit like that.

My personal FAVORITE Fixedart is definitely mask of the dragon and amulet of air. Mask of the dragon appears quite often for me, almost every game that i need it, I find it.

But for me, the luckiest GAME I ever played was when I found mask of the dragon, gloves of archery, +5 +7 orcish bow of flames, and shaolin ring on dungeon level 1 and 2 as a centaur hunter. Not to mention I ended up getting 3 levels of ROUGH BLACK SCALES(!!!) from a few potions of mutation in the same game. Seriously, the whole game was like that, it was absurd. I figured that was worth mentioning since finding 2 fixedarts on dungeon level 1 is just silly.

I'm not surprised it's -11. I wouldn't imagine armour that was twisted would provide very good protection.

Actually that death has nothing to do with the amulet. The game brought me really funny feelings when I equipped a ring of rF+ and killed Harold by slinging stones with Sling skill 0 for about 10 turns despite his Bolt of Fire (3d17).
I am back to playing offline now, I cannot get used to online interface and it still feels slow despite I am in PA currently.

You say it has nothing to do with the amulet, I say you were doomed as soon as you picked it up. We are both right, we are both wrong.

I definitely don't share this point of view. Maybe because my first 15-runer forum thread started as "Best ever start" (I created the thread before finishing Lair) or maybe because my first and only Ds character (15 runer again) found CPA before Lair. Trust me, that could easily be a winner if I played it with my usual settings ;)

Lost the character soon after seeing this. Was going for a speedrun so no chance of ever buying this. I guess that's supposed to make me feel better.

Best ring I ever had had.

Ring of Fraigh ( rF++ dex+2 Dam+8 sIn )

Got it relatively early. I soon also found slaying 0, +7. And whip of draining. Switched that to demonswhip of electricity. Just finished game with full resistances expect for rElec (my one weakness as I joked to my friend) :D my first successful run, got all 15 runes too.

Btw is there thread for celebrating successful runs? Or first time successes.

I believe the "YASD! YAVP! and characters in progress too" section of the forum is intended, amongst other things, for that very purpose.

Not sure about best/worst artifact but the most unusual ego item for sure especially since it was purchased, not found. Yes, my HOFi of Beogh used it all the way till ZoT5 because there was nothing better and the character had fast movement mutation.
