God Tournament with BRACKETS: Yredelemnul vs Nemelex Xobeh

I checked with bcadren, and he was OK with me hijacking his tournament this way... so here's the start of a proper bracketed single-elimination god tournament (idea courtesy of tasonir).

Seeding is by games won in 0.17 tournament, and all opinions should be based on the 0.17 version of these gods. Atheist will be included! I look forward to seeing Chei's placement...

Not that I care really much, but bcadren's initial idea is based on the perceived power of the god, while Tiktacy wants to consider also the enjoyment to play with one.

Those two assumption are obviously incompatible, so you should really decide on what parameters do you want to make this competition.

I just felt like it made it more interesting, but perhaps you are right. Anyone else want to chime in on this?

Well... I'd like to just let someone else handle it, but I really prefer my format to his for a couple reasons:

• Power-level rating
• Single poll per thread

The second particularly focuses the conversation a lot, and lets us actually talk about the choice. It's hard to have a good forum thread about 7 topics at once.

I'd prefer to play Yred since there's a few abilities that work together and are easy to adapt to...but by power...I have to give it to Nemelex; some of those Deck effects and the variety of powerful escape abilities (Warpright Card, Tomb Card, Damnation Card, etc.) are completely insane.

I'm surprised to see Yred winning; Nemelex is way more flexible and tends to kick in faster, ime.

You cant triple draw with nemelex in the beginning and evocation is not high enough to supress bad effects, Draw foxfire and you are surrounded by 3 enemy wyverns, draw repulsiveness and get killed by a ugly thing. Yred's animate dead is a more stable way to get through the first levels.
