i haven't tried OgEE yet, but anyway ogre is shit early game, that's why Og is bad.
i recommend OgWz/OgSu/OgNe of chei. due to aptitude of ogre, ogre can only cast one-school Lv3 spell in early game.
Wz: call imp, blink Su:call imp, call Canine Familiar, Ne: animate skeleton, pain, vampiric draining, and animate dead(Lv4).
( OgWz^Chei:

( OgNe^Chei: now playing, feel quite powerful)
( OgSu^Chei: haven't tried yet)
Og is suck early game, but after early game, Og becomes quite powerful.
so if you want to sacrifice early game seriously for powerful power since mid game, you should choose Ogre. and worship Chei.
Og^Chei is powerful combo because ogre is strong and chei is balance-breaker, but anyway your early game is shit.

The combo also really lets you focus on worshiping chei: your ability to escape in combat is even worse than a normal chei character because you can't blink/tele, but you gain even more power from chei because you already gave up haste for power before picking chei. However, once you get step from time, you have a great escape anyway.
i recommend Fo^Chei, i agree with you. but silence of enemies is shit. you can't use step from time!
my FoEE^Chei was killed by pan lord that cast silence and glaciate
