Orbs of destruction should not be distracted by gold.

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Orbs of destruction should not be distracted by gold.

I lost the message log for this, but I had a demonspawn cast orb of destruction at me. The Orb was then distracted by gold and didn't move for several turns. Meanwhile the demonspawn swapped places with the orb and promptly got blown up by him own orb. There are limits to what can get distracted, but not in crawl.

Agreed, Gozag is too good anyway.
If you are offended by something I've posted, just PM me. It probably wasn't intentional.

There's code specifically to prevent this (orbs of destruction being distracted by gold), and I can't reproduce it in testing.

What version of the game are you playing? Trunk, 0.16? Local, online?

Casters can somehow end up in front of their own orbs even if you're not worshipping gozag. I've seen this happen with ancient liches every once in a while.

Re: Orbs of destruction should not be distracted by gold.

I've been noticing *something* happen with OOD lately since the squareLOS change (don't know if it's related)

The following has happened to me a *LOT* recently:
turn 1:
  Code:
C *       @

turn 2:
  Code:
 *C       @

It's particularly confusing because the cloud trail doesn't like lead around the giant or anything.
