Well obviously the devs hate dowan. They basically set up the game so the optimal strategy is to murder his sister in front of his eyes, then slaughter him, in an early game demonstration that melee is way better than magic

But I'm sorry if you hate me. I don't think you know me well enough to have such strong emotions toward me, but that's ok, I'll probably get over losing your affections. I guess that indicates where you think you stand on my secret list though
