Are game graphics licensed for commercial use?

If not, then someone in legal (lol) might want to look into this app on the App Store, and this collection of screenshots courtesy of Google. Much as you people piss me off, I still don't want to see you being robbed.

The ones from http://rltiles.sourceforge.net/ are free to use by anyone. Also, I believe a few of the tile submitters have allowed anybody to use them. Not sure about the specifics of who, so I don't know one way or the other if that app is breaking any laws.

Well /some/ of the tiles are public domain.

Some of them are not public domain. It depends on the artist.

I say this because that app uses pan lord tiles, which I imagine were made for Crawl specifically and are not in the original public domain rltiles package, so it might be in violation after all!

I said the tiles might be legal. Someone will have to dig through mantis to see if denzi, roctavian, and bloax has said anything about public domain, as they are the principle tile submitters (Not to discredit anyone else! Those just came to my mind as making lots). Considering the app is using ONLY crawl tiles, I would guess that rather than stumbling onto a bunch of free sprites and using them for their game, they likely just picked whichever crawl ones looked cool, and likely grabbed atleast a few illegal ones.
