Apparently minotaurs should be entering vaults:5 at level 15. To be fair, he did reach level 16 while he was there He clearly didn't clear very much of the floor if he only gained that much exp, so I imagine he used a lot of "ninjaing" runes, although he had 0 stealth and spells, so I'm not really sure how he ninja'ed runes...

He went to abyss:5 to speed up finding the abyss rune, but I'm amazed that he could even find 4 "downstairs" in < 300 turns in the abyss. The abyss really cooperated

In the moment he typed "<" his char got (or was?) confused by a golden eye. He only had a few pots of curing left while more and more golden eyes came into view and confused him...

There's still a 50% chance of successfully going up stairs if you're confused, right? So even if there are no more confusion sources, quaffing curing and going up takes 2 turns, and on average, it takes 2 turns to successfully go up while confused. If there are still any sources of confusion around, attempting to go up the stairs while confused is obviously optimal.
