Minotaur juggler

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Minotaur juggler

  Code:
A minotaur comes into view.
 The minotaur bellows!
The minotaur picks up the +0 Staff of Olgreb {rPois}.
The minotaur wields the +0 Staff of Olgreb {rPois}.
The minotaur unwields the +0 Staff of Olgreb {rPois}.
The minotaur drops the +0 Staff of Olgreb {rPois}.
The minotaur picks up a glowing hand axe.
The minotaur wields a glowing hand axe.
_You hear the crackle of electricity.
Found the +0 Staff of Olgreb {rPois}. Found an escape hatch in the ceiling.

So this minotaur picks up two things, wields twice, drops once, unwields once, immediately on coming into view. This would take me 4.5 turns, but it takes this guy no time at all.

Re: Minotaur juggler

I would be in favor of a minotaur juggler monster.
  • Seeks out as many items as possible and picks them up
  • Juggles them rather than wielding or wearing them
  • Can throw any item for damage
  • If you shoot it or throw something at it, it will catch the ammo and begin juggling it, taking no damage
  • Fast
  • If you confuse, paralyze, petrify, or blind it, it drops all items on itself, dealing damage to itself. It can't juggle while incapacitated.

Re: Minotaur juggler

You're stuck in the center of a maze for all time with nothing but a pile of weapons and stuff...so what do you do? Why not practice juggling...

I've seen a gnoll do this before. I think it was in .14 or .15.

Re: Minotaur juggler

It's amusing and doesn't really negatively impact gameplay. Do we really consider this a bug?

Is this information leak? If he stops swapping weapons and there's still an unwielded weapon on his tile, does that mean the one he's wielding is cursed?

I believe it just means that the minotaur thinks its current weapon is better.

The issue is that the monster looks through each weapon, checks to see if it's better, and wields it if so, rather than only wielding the single best weapon in its current stack.

Re: Minotaur juggler

The mino just wants to check how each weapon feels in it's hand.
