So I banished an active ballistomycete with my distortion dagger. What happens now? Is the Abyss going to end up overrun by mushrooms?

Yeah. If you're gonna go for the abyssal rune, make sure to banish a Nemelex worshipper first so the place gets flooded with decks too.

I don't believe that when you banish something you see it later.

Banished uniques (and apparently other 'powerful' monsters) will be wandering in the Abyss and you might meet them again if you go there.
