if a monster is in a door you should be able to do a special attack by closing the door on it. monsters can do this to players too if the player is in a door

the attacks are:
"you slam the door on the monster's hand" - monster gets accuracy penalty for next 10 turns
"you slam the door on the monster's foot" - monster gets speed penalty for the next 10 turns
"you slam the door on the monster's head" - monster can't cast spells for next 10 turns
"you slam the door on the monster's nose" - monster gets penalty to stealth checks (b/c they cant smell you)
"the monster slams the door on your finger" - destroys 1 equipped ring
"the monster slams the door on your arm" - drop wielded weapon
"the monster slams the door on your balls" - lose 1 MP permanently

On a more serious note; it's really annoying that you can't close a door that a monster died in if you need to...situationally increases the need for ?fog.

Yeah, that is pretty much the only reason I don't like the fact that you can't move corpses any more

Yea that and having to wait for clouds to dissipate to get corpses.

Well, that's really only an issue if you were in the habit of regularly apporting your corpses, which I was not.

Yea using 5 to get a corpse is such a bother to me. There's a point in the game as any kind of conjurer that I tend to be low on food at the end of battles with nasty or higher level creatures. [Not low on Permafood; just going from Satiated to Very Hungry or lower and I'd rather get that corpse to eat than break into porn.]

Is there a "problem" if closing the door moved items to the next space over?

In 0.17 deep dwarves will have to be next to a door to use that ability.

Screw you, man. I would never have believed Alex Ross to ever paint Captain Americat in my, or his, lifetime.

Crawl needs more dungeon-balls interactions.

There should be a vault with like an artifact 'GOLDEN' weapon that looks easy to grab; but when you either step on the tile to remove it or apport it off the tile, you find out it's actually a pressure plate that spawns a giant "Stone Ball" which rolls at you like an Orb of Destruction, but hitting hard enough to instakill on hit. Course your only option is to run from the stone ball until you can cause it to roll into lava or something.

...that's totally an idea I just had. I didn't copy it from anywhere.

There's already a vault that implements that reference.

I could see this working for a 7DRL. I'd recommending it being streamlined to simply add status effects to defenders being attacked while standing in a door frame rather than requiring the player to press 'c' next to one.

I have no idea who alex ross or captain americat are, so I googled them, and this is the only image search result I could find:

Also google kept insisting that americat was a typo and I should search for captain america. Holding down the poor little captain americat, for shame.
