V:5 with 14 shops!?

Is this a bug..? I don't think I've seen half that many shops on one level before.

Most probably not a bug: some Vaults end quadrants put their loot into shops (so that's deliberate), and I believe that all Vaults level are entitled to ordinary shop generation. So I'd reckon you just lucked out on both account.

I think V:5 can't get shops normally, since they place as vaults and can't overwrite other vaults. (Long ago, they were placed by the code itself, and there were stories of shops in Yiuf's house or under the serpentine rune). That makes the number of shops all the more impressive!

I think I had an orc:4 with 9 shops once, so while you've clearly beaten that count, it does happen from time to time

They're all Pan portals, guarded by relevant entities.

Weird, I found a vault in v:5 with 9 shops in my most recent game. it was almost all potions abd scrolls too :)
