I love it when, playing a Demonspawn Chaos Knight, I get Demonic Guardian 3 by level 6.

Ever seen a friendly executioner beat up on Eustachio and Menkaure before? :D

Actually yes I have seen that. Unfortunately later I fell into a ambush consisting of a massive number of orc warriors with crossbows and at least 5 high priests. My artificer died.

I love it when I roll up a TrEE, planning to work up to Statue Form, and find a book of Earth on dlvl 3, right after thinking "It would be cool if this book had Statue Form in it"

I love it even more when that same character dies to a hydra who managed to step towards him and attack on the same turn while severely wounded.

Which is what I accidentally did an hour ago... and on my consumables/miscellaneous stack too.

Lost my earth stone, party trick book and a lot jewels; including +6 +3 slaying and a resist corrosion amulet(that I was about to wear with my preservation cloak to tackle the Slime Pits).

Damn.

That's not the best strategy - the slimes will chew up your preserv cloak pretty badly. Better to wear an unrand cloak and use all randart gear, plus the corrosion amulet.

When Vehumet boosts your spellpower and then gives you back enough MP to keep spamming it however tough your opponents might be:
  Code:
The ice storm engulfs the orb of fire. The orb of fire partially resists.
You destroy the orb of fire!
The ice storm engulfs the orb of fire. The orb of fire partially resists.
The orb of fire is almost destroyed.
The ice storm engulfs the orb of fire. The orb of fire partially resists.
You destroy the orb of fire!
You feel your power returning. x2
You feel a bit more experienced.

The evolution mutation really knows what it's talking about.

  Code:
Drink which item? (? for menu, Esc to quit)
You feel extremely strange.
Your muscles feel sore.
Thin metallic scales grow over part of your body.
You feel nature experimenting on you. Don't worry, failures die fast.
It was a potion of mutation. The gnoll hits you with a whip.
You die...

Sure enough. Failures die fast.

I love it when a labyrinth's loot includes 3 randarts, 2 staves, 2 rods, and 2 books. Ok, so not all of them were useful to me, but even the rods alone made it a good haul.
