Xom actually does this on purpose. If Xom chooses to gift "boots", they are always (or maybe just often?) of a type that won't fit your character. Centaurs get naga bardings, nagas get centaur bardings, and everyone else gets a coinflip between the two. Welcome to Xom.

The same could be said of any summon. in and of itself your anecdote means nothing.

I start a nice HuSk with polearms and I get The sword of jihad, arga, firestarter, and the storm bow.

Mostly trash. But i got some gold from it at least.

I start a quarterstaff gladiator of oka and oka gifts me a vamp lajatang on L:1 as his first gift. I then find another vamp lajatang on L:8, and okas second lajatang gift is vamp branded.

I was playing a MfEE on comborobin, building my polearms and generally having a mixed earlygame, when I ran into a bailey. The entry vault was the one where you have weapons buried inside translucent stone walls.

Well, one of those was a bardiche, which is the cue for any polearms character to shrug their shoulders and laugh at the game's sense of humor. And I was carrying on doing just that, when I remembered...

I was an EE. And even though I wasn't playing like it, I had trained a bit of earth. I had LRD.

One potion of brilliance and plenty of luck later, my MfEE was up and running with a +6 bardiche.

No, that's not the right place for the orcs. Khazad-Dum was founded and built by the dwarves. Orcs only lived there in the Third Age after the balrog had appeared, killing most of the dwarves.

In the Fourth Age the dwarves, led by Durin VII, came back to Khazad-Dum and lived there ever after.
