Love it when I dont have to engage the player ghosts... Ashenzari was insisting there was a nasty back there, but I couldnt find a way in and popped the scrying to check it out.




Also, Orc 4 is mine!



Gotten to the point where I will now almost always do Orc before Lair with a necromancer, since I inevitably wind-up with a horde following me and dont actually have to fight much of it unless I really want to. Also pain daggers...

Another fun point for a young necro I've discovered is the mini-vault with an ogre and a little fire cloud along with a bunch of skeletons. Though this vault often appears really quite early a number of the skeletons are of elves, which when raised will wipe the entire floor. (being well OOD)

Pretty good, i mean, scrolls of identify are really common.

The odds are good that your first read is Ident sure, I can usaully hit it first or second try. But that the pot he chose to ID was experience is probably long odds, how often do you have !xp so early you havent yet found your ?Identify?

Playing a TrMo^Ash with shields already trained. Pay 1125 gold for a book of burglary to pay for a trove, and get an armour trove with:

- Cursed +1 FDA
- Cursed +4 shield {rC+ MR++}
- Cursed +1 cloak of magic resistance

Also already had an rC ring and an MR hat.

Love it when I find an artifact shield on D:4... even if it does turn out to be the gong.

Love that I immediately find a book with Song of Slaying and become a one man band, gong brings monsters to feed the song. Never really dared sing in the dungeon before, but a bit moot with this noise-maker strapped to my arm.

Then... Lair:8, go down stairs and... GONNGG, Let There Be Enemies.



Still loving it anyway, now I dont have to go find 'em. Ended up with Snorg, some half-dozen spinies, a pack of blinks and other miscellaneous Lair junk.

What you really need now is the singing sword to round out the noisemaking collection. Then join Qazlal. Maybe the whole dungeon will collapse from all the noise.

Vault 5 certainly fell on that guy's head He paired it with Sceptre of Torment for a nice vocal accompaniment from the hostiles.

Seriously though, the gong is awesome, though for full marks you have to go Ash and curse it to yourself for the entire game.
