Just wanted to say that qw bot is really great and I wonder who is its author? Elliptic? The bot has 6 wins and I have just been spectating MiHu, it uses bow, switches to melee to save arrows, retreats into corridors. I wonder if we will ever have chess-like situation when bots will be defeating even the best human players.

In the topic Bots in 0.14 tournament MarvinPA said that qw was written by elliptic, right. Maybe it's actually an improved version of qw?

The qw bot is certainly improving rapidly. On the 0.14 tournament it had a 0.4% winrate; on 0.15 it was 2%, and now it is 10%.

So it is 5 times better every time. 0.17 should have 50%

DOUBLE DAMAGE was probably it. I would expect it to go down again once that is fixed

Why did it switch in the .15 tournament to playing deep dwarf transmuters (see the recent games table)? Still went axes and trog, so that background makes no sense. Bringing down the win rate to an even 2%?

Due to a bug in 0.15, starting with beastly appendage memorized would flip a switch that made the game generate more slaying items if you also converted to trog.

Qw has won another game, so its wincount for the tournament is now seven (the same as mine, hell yeah!)

I've just spectated a game, and qw has certainly improved. The former version charged at melee enemies, while this one throws javelins or tomahawks instead, waiting for the opponents to come. A definite improvement.

A curious thing: qw does not pick up gold. This probably means that it does not buy anything in shops, I don't really know why.
