The God Portal

[Another one I ALMOST put in GDD]

Every game is guaranteed exactly one of these at some point in Pandemonium. These are timed portals.

Outside of the God Portal is an altar to a god; this god is never the god you worship and it indicates which god portal it is. In theory there would eventually be one for every god; immediately I'm only proposing one or two as a trial for it.

If you immediately switch to the god on the altar, the god portal switches itself for a small trove (3-5 items; 1-2 acquirement level. Your new god themed). Otherwise; you enter a populous temple to this god; full of hostile worshipers. The temple's difficulty should be very similar to a Hell Branch ending, complete with hell effects. The god portal effects though are constant Wrath ticks from the god to whom the temple is dedicated. Summons of Electrocution branded dancing weapons for Beogh, Daeva spawns and Cleansing Flame Blasts for TSO, etc. The challenge is similarly themed after the god in question and the rewards are themed after the god as well (it is their temple).

Library of Sif Muna: Enter through a peaceful garden. (Plants, Flowers, Butterflies, nothing hostile) through a door to the library. Main hall also has nothing spawned. From the main hall there are many runed doors; each with an inscribed label. Each will lock you inside upon entering until the room is cleared. You may enter as many or as few as you like. You receive six rooms at random. Each room is roughly the size of one of the 'ovals' that make up the Zot endvault, with several thinner hallways (rows of books) within. The possibilities are:
    [Melee Rooms]
  • Transmutations Wing (Version 1) [Normal] - Room full of various player races with increased HD; all cast polymorph on themselves. Draconians turn into various dragons; Demonspawn into higher tier demons; Ghouls and Mummies are allowed to Transmute into high tier melee undead (Revenants, Jiangshi, Ancient Champions); natural races do a normal transmutation and may get the likes of titans, Torpor Snails, Dire Elephants. Single 'Boss' to the room is a shining shapeshifter (with HD increased high enough to make it choose dragons, titan, etc.)
  • Transmutations Wing (Version 2) [Gone Wrong] - Blood everywhere. Death Oozes, Macabre Masses (which become Large Abominations Quickly), Tentacled Monstrosities, Acid Blobs, Mutagenic Clouds.
  • Closed - [Trog incursion] - Berserking Iron Trolls, Draconians, Ghouls and Dragons. Clouds of Flame everywhere. Unlike the rest of the possible rooms; this one gives antimagic weapons (instead of spellbooks).
  • Charms Wing - Deep Elf Blademasters and Draconian Knights. All have a chance of Hasting Self, Mighting Self, or casting Spectral Weapon.
    [Normal Rooms]
  • Demonology Wing - Deep Elf Demonologists, Obsidian Statues, Kobold Demonologists, Malign Gateways.
  • Natural Summoning - [Special: Trees around this room] - Contains a single Dryad. Deep Elf Callers. Unique Wizards (may be spriggan, human, felid or deep elf); which use the old Summ. Dragon and Monstrous Menagerie (Kirke Version).
  • Fire Wing - [Special: Pools of Magma between the bookshelves.] - Fire Giants, Salamanders, and {Deep Elf Annihilators, Ancient Liches} (Spell list shifted to FBall, B.Fire, B.Magma) One of the liches also carries Fire Storm.
  • Ice Wing - [Special: Pools of Shallow Water between the bookshelves.] - Ice Giants, Merfolk Aquamancers, and {Deep Elf Annihilators, Ancient Liches} (Spell list shifted to Icicle, B.Cold, Refridgeration) One of the liches also carries Glaciate.
  • Earth Wing - [Special: Green Crystal Walls and Statues around this room.] - Deep Troll Earth Elementalists and {Deep Elf Annihilators, Ancient Liches} (Spell list shifted to Iron Shot, B. Magma, Lehu's)
  • Air Wing - Spriggan Air Mages, Electric Golems, Wind Drakes Titans and {Deep Elf Annihilators, Ancient Liches} (Spell list shifted to B. Lightning, Chain Lightning, Airstrike) One lich also carries Tornado. Everything in this room is given rWind, rElec to protect them from each other.
  • Poison Wing - Greater Nagas, Naga Ritualists, Ancient Liches {P.Arrow, B. Venom, Poisonous Cloud, Ignite Poison (affects only clouds and the player)}
  • Necromancy Wing - Deep Elf Death Mages, Greater Mummies and Ancient Liches {B. Draining, Dispel Undead, Summ. Undead}, at least one Curse Skull.
  • Hex Wing - Vampire Knights, Deep Elf Blademasters, Deep Elf Knights, Ancient Liches. Everything in this room has a stabbing weapon and spell list shifted to contain multiple hexes. Very quickly fatal without high MR and/or Stasis.
  • Translocations Wing - Yaktaur Captains, Naga Sharpshooters, Deep Elf Master Archers, Centaur Warriors and Satyrs. Everything has a distortion melee weapon with a chance of dispersal ammo. They can also cast Phase Shift, Blink Self and Portal Projectile.
    [Unique Rooms]
  • Silent Study - Statue with Silence Aura. Several powerful creatures with Demonic Spellcasting (mostly Tier 2 demons; with some Fiends thrown in). Torment rate is decreased compared to normal as the player can't defend as well against it while silenced.
  • Antiques - Appears after clearing all rooms spawned (Unnaturally hard rock becomes a door). It's a reward vault, containing several staves, books and weapons. It also contains the Demonic Rune, if you haven't found it already.

[That's long and complicated; but I avoided true vault unique monsters (only unique spell lists); so it shouldn't be stupidly hard to create and try out. It's derivative of several of the older library proposals and my proposal for the first new god portal to try the concept.] The TSO god-portal would simply be Holy Pan, moved to being a portal. With the difficulty upped slightly. Other gods would have portals focusing their flavour into a complex combination of enemies that isn't elsewhere in the game.

Wrath would have to be slightly dialled down and slower.

Wrath + tons of enemies = dead.
