It's because they are adding cooking skill in a few versions, chunks need to taste bad or there's no point in cooking them.

Yay, my favorite thread, where I defend that descriptions of chunks should be reworded because describing the meat as "gross because it is raw" implies it can somehow be cooked, was included.

Never asked for a cooking skill; figured the change would simply stop others from thinking there is a way to cook meat, or that there should be a way. Simple interface change = fewer unnecessary threads.
