but srsly that z13 win was outstanding. Some of the best speedrunners who've won a lot of species and class high scores in recent crawl: PurpleRed (probably the best overall 15-rune speedrunner), Yermak, keymashgrqeeg, 4thArraofDagon.

For 3-rune, I don't know if anyone will try to beat jeanjacques amazing <10k win now that Ely gains piety on explore.

Maybe try to beat the 0.14+ (aka recent) fastest 3-runer instead of trying to beat some esoteric artifact of the past. (Since the old DD^Ely stuff is rather impossible in recent times.)
Speaking of esoteric artifacts of the past, PR's VSBe is still #1 in my heart.

PR stopped crawling on 2014-07-27, and restarted on 2015-02-05. The whole carreer of Z13 takes place in between of those dates (the dates don't match perfectly, however). So it is quite possible that he is the one.

Perhaps it is just me, but I don't find the win to be very impressive. It obviously relied way too much on random chance favoring an extremely risky decision tree. Sure, there was skill, but 1/490 is more notable for persistence than anything else (imho). Think about failing 489 times and not knowing if it will ever work. Ugh.

As gammafunk noted, there are other players who have a higher winrate, in combination with high scores, that are much more impressive to me (PurpleRed, Yermak, keymashgrqeeg).

My biggest downfall as a speedrunner happens to be exactly that I have just about no persistence, so yeah - it is sure nice to see that other people have some.
It's a bit annoying how important it is for actually getting wins, however.

jeanjacques' incredible 3 rune speedrun took place in a weird moment between nausea being removed and Ely being able to pacify bugs (ely speedruns made nausea very relevant) and I'm not sure it's gonna be bested barring something incredible...

Bloax' (even more) badass VSTm I sort of feel could have been done by a SpEn...maybe still approachable by a very lucky spriggan.

I'd also like to give a shoutout to Bart for playing some ultra fast games with really weird "builds"
