Mo' Dragons Mo' Problems

So... with the long-anticipated addition of shadow and quicksilver dragon armours set for 0.16, I started thinking about hypothetical Iron Dragon armour, which led me to thinking about other types of metal-based dragons I wanted to see.

Platinum Dragon
Breath Attack: Same breath attacks as the Fire, Ice and Storm Dragons.
Armour: Similar to Gold Dragon armour except it grants rF, rC and rElec.

Lead Dragon
Breath Attack: Deals damage and inflicts -rF, -rC and -rP.
Armour: Similar to Gold Dragon armour except it causes one point of vulnerability to fire, ice and poison.

Silver Dragon
Breath Attack: Deals additional damage against chaotic or heavily mutated characters.
Armour: Similar to Pearl Dragon armour except it grants rMut.

Zinc Dragon
Breath Attack: Deals damage and temporarily "locks" the character's present status.
Armour: Similar to Swamp Dragon armour except it grants rCorr.

Tin Dragon
Breath Attack: Shoots shards of metal, which cause the barb status effect.
Armour: Similar to Swamp Dragon armour except it grants rRot.

Titanium Dragon
Breath Attack: Slightly weaker than the breath attack of Iron Dragon's but more frequent.
Armour: Has above average AC and GDR for its encumbrance rating.

Radium Dragon
Breath Attack: Breath attack causes contamination.
Armour: Similar to Mottled Dragon armour, but creates an aura and improves the power of the wearer's spells.

Thorium Dragon
Breath Attack: Deals damage and leaves a lingering cloud of mutagenic fog behind.
Armour: Extremely cumbersome, excellent AC, rcorr, contamination

I played a brass dragon on a mud for many years - basically a sand/desert type dragon. Sand breath does fire/physical damage (think bolt of magma) and they have a secondary breath which causes sleep (no damage). STABBER DRAGON IS GO. Vulnerable to drowning damage (on the mud it was water damage - water and cold were two separate types).

Denim dragon Fairly durable, generally bluish. Armour is usually pants, so you can't wear it, but occasionally it's a jacket that doesn't actually protect you from anything but makes your character doll look pretty cool.

Flannel dragon A dragon for those days when you don't feel like changing into work clothes, because, y'know, screw it. Armour is really comfy and lets you take a nap. Gives bonus nutrition to pizza. Occasionally lets you talk liches into playing Smash Brothers with you instead of crystal spearing your face.

Peripherally related, I really think there should be a monster that inflicts glow in melee. Would be a unique way to encourage berserker types to try a strategy other than "rush in and beat it to death." Yeah, Mnoleg mutates in melee, but I'm thinking of a non-unique. Also one that moves at normal speed, so not a renamed pulsating lump.

Re: Mo' Dragons Mo' Problems

Hydrogen dragon
Vulnerable to fire
Breath attack leaves behind hydrogen clouds that cause fireball explosions when exposed to flame.
Armor grants constant fire vulnerability and inner flame style explosions when exposed to fire damage.

We know from demonspawn and draconians that xl is a proxy for maturity, and so lead dragon should obviously inflict confusion and permanent int damage equal to 27-xl.

The dragon is silly (thus suitable for this thread) but I like the idea of clouds that can be ignited. If the clouds silently expanded, and you had to hope the you passed stealth checks until the time was right to ignite them, that could be a fun play style. Some monster in swamp should leave trails of this kind of cloud.

I don't know if "smoke needles" or a "rod of methane" or a "Cloud of Portents" spell would be the right way to go.

Poison clouds are igniteable in some sense though doing it with any sort of fire might be cool.

Re: Mo' Dragons Mo' Problems

Brown Dragon
Breath Attack: The brown note; causes stamina-resisted paralysis; increased hunger state increases resistance; MR and rPois offer no protection. Formicid (no ears) and Undead are immune.
Armour: Swamp Dragon armour with slightly more AC, -Hunger, and --Stealth.

Brainless Dragon: drops the No Brainer hide, which when enchanted into armor has 10 base ac, 0 ER, and grants rF/rC/rP/rN/rE.

Ugly Dragon: Morphs like an ugly thing, causes you to occasionally flinch in combat due to how hideous it is, drops a random hide on death.

Two headed dragon:
Drops two hides. Wearing one works like an animal hide, but if you wear both you get damage shaving. Wearing one removes the other.
