Potion of (permanently) beneficial mutation

I've been playing a character that got wild magic from her first potion of beneficial mutation. Wild magic is one of those mutations that can start as being quite bad as it could make your castable spells not so castable in the short term, but if you'll invest more in magic it can indeed be quite beneficial.

That got me thinking that it'd be nice if there was a way to make a good mutation permanent. I know this is not a novel idea, but my proposal would be this: instead of giving you another mostly beneficial mutation, the potion would have a 50% chance of making a current mutation of your choice permanent. It could also be completely random, but in that case it should only affect the ones from the "beneficial" list, or you might get royally screwed in the early game.

Those would be incredible rare to be of any effect to a run. You can make your muts permanent by using lich form, worshiping zin or not getting in the line of fire of any cacodemon.

Probably so. A wilder version would be have 50% chance of permanence in any case, which would make the potions even more of a gamble.

Maybe have that 50% chance also double the mutation level as well.

It would be fun if you had a chance to get a permanent mutation from potion of mutation. Currently they are too easy to use.
