Not sure if bug or feature: invisible ghosts

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Not sure if bug or feature: invisible ghosts

If it is a bug, I'll submit a ticket, but I wanted to make sure it wasn't some evil new feature first.

Player ghosts are showing up with just a black space on my game, playing non-tiles. Version 0.16-a0-1871-g44f7412.

I checked the changelog and didn't see anything, but I also didn't get a version change prompt so I'm not really sure. It kinda makes sense flavor-wise for ghosts, I know shadows used to do this waaaay back in the day.

Re: Not sure if bug or feature: invisible ghosts

I ran into this and reported it too, it was on my csdc game of course. It was pretty scary until I noticed that HECj ghost had no spells o.O

Saw it on 2 different ghosts, glad I'm not the only one

I've seen that some exotic ascii symbols are not properly printed as glyphs in console -at least in online 0.16. Was some hidden change made to player ghosts in settings?

It's fixed now, don't know if any servers have updated to it yet.

While we have this open, why is the tile used for ghosts on CTRL-X different than the tile used in-game?

I was going to say something witty here, and realised: "hey, he's right!"

Console players can't even tell the difference between a W and a W!

(In tiles, those W's would be the icons for two different monsters)

HAhahahaah! Get it??!?!?!?!

I ordinarily prefer ASCII in roguelikes, but crawl I am just used to tiles.

It probably helps that our tiles blow most other tilesets I have seen out of the water, so major props to our tile maker people.
