It's not that it was a bad movie, but everyone was like "Oh man that's like the deepest movie I ever seen"
Pretty much any show or book that gets called "smart" or "clever" makes me feel the same way.

We discussed inception in fucking philosophy class as some kind of Descartes replacement and nooned seemed to think this was strange. Yeah, we were 15-16, but come on, you can read 15 pages of Descartes and have some idea of what is going on and instead we watch 2+ hours of this.

Do you even have any idea of the kind of preposterous bullshit they make you study in a philosophy major?

I can certainly think of worse ways to spend 2 hours than watching a pretty good sci-fi movie.

cerebovssquire is from Germany where you can get a good education for a free, and I don't know where you are from, but personally I would always be pretty disappointed, if not actually pissed off, if a day that my exorbitant tuition was paying for was spent doing something I could, and probably would, do in my off time anyway.

It's like my old music theory professor used to say, "Education is the only thing people pay more for less of."

Nowadays I listen mostly to Baroque, I am especially taken with the lute music.

Sigh, I was born in the wrong time, the modern age seems ugly and meaningless.
