We were given the option between The Matrix and Inception. High school philosophy was a complete trainwreck. R.E. here in Germany is either Catholicism or Protestantism, so you have a lot of atheists/Muslims/Christians of other denominations who don't want to go to R.E. or whos parents won't let them. If you don't take R.E., you have to take Philosophy, and so you have a lot of people not interested in philosophy in these classes. And the few people who are interested in philosophy were generally more interested in moral/political philosophy.

How do you mean? I'm not studying philosophy or any related field (thank god for that), but I went to a few college philosophy courses when I was in HS, and they all seemed quite OK, though I think the professors had a lot to do with that.
