1 one is troll
2 one is minotaur
3 are Spriggan's team (Assassin melee, Assassin Ranged, Mage)

I'm imaging something like Starbound's Floran, but I'm too weary to cruise the seas of google's r34 image results to find something that won't get me banned.

Well, there isn't much artistic freedom on the in-game ragdolls, since all the armour and weapons have to fit on them without extensive changes.

I wasn't dogging on the sprite. But it won't be of use here.

Also I meant the monster tile.

I'm gonna be totally awesome and anime this thread up. I've always imagined something like Zetsu from Naruto when picturing Vine Stalkers:

Thank you

I think vine stalker should look like human, but his body, all of his muscles are made of vines  and i have no idea how to sculpt it in 28 mm scale :?
May be it is something between Starbound's Floran and the Siegurt's picture, but i really want to make it more anthropomorphic.

Well they're supposed to be plant xenomorphs, so I can't really say that having it look like an orc is very fitting.

They're supposed to be anthropomorphic masses of thick vines. Anyway it's only my vision.

I always imagined- with their massively rendered maw sprites and all- that they look like Leviathans from the Supernatural TV series.

I see the ropy "vine" musculature and "vine-y" dreadlock hair, but I agree that the face/head should not look so humanoid; these creatures are well-known for their powerful, magic-draining, bite, frequently used in combat.

Human vs Monster head/face (H vs M)
Ok let's see
1. Patashu - H and M because it's only the skull
2. Deimos - H and M because some arts looks more like human and the others more like monster
3. cerealjynx - H
4. Greyr - H
5. scorpionwarrior - M
6. Siegurt - M
7. Hobnails - H because that guy looks like human before attack
8. Hirsch I - H and M
9. willytheraccoon - H

6H vs 6M and now we know that vine stalker can look both ways

Well this was the actual tile they were supposed to be using until someone never stopped using trolls with downscaled mimic mouths for heads.

I'm not saying your stuff is bad (because it isn't), but I really don't like your "interpretations" of these things.

Why the HELL we are not using this tile? It's so much better than current fully acidic green coloured tile.

I like it. I can see the plant influence on the limbs.
What would a less pixellated / more refined version of that look like?

Is that a flower bud for a head?
What's the blue in the face/neck represent; teeth? Flower petals?

From this, compared to the miniature, WillyTheRaccoon has the arms / legs / chest right (though alternating brown/green paints would be needed), but would need to swap out the head, and if those aren't gauntlet-covered fingers, make the fingers a little more vine-y.

I think it will look pretty awesome when it's painted and you can more easily make out the vines. Nice minis bro.

The blue is shitty magic-eating teeth.
And if I told you that this is a xenomorph then what would you think its head is?

(and mind you the head is completely centered)

@willytheraccoon

Your minis are amazing! o___o

About the vine stalker head, I agree that the head should look less humanoid. Why? To make it stand out better from trolls and other races, to give them more character of their own. Judging from your DA site, you like fallout too, do you know spore carriers from New Vegas?

On the other hand, aren't vine stalkers supposed to be some sort of symbiotes/parasites grafted onto/growing from the inside out of a dead(ish) husk of a former humanoid? Maybe when you get to the painting stage, if you can reflect that the humanoid face is being "eaten from the inside" by the plant organism, you can reconcile both approaches. Cracking skin, patches where flesh has fallen off and reveals plant tissue inside... if that face is made to look like it's a vestigial mask from a former humanoid I think it can be kept while not clashing too much with the concept.

In any event, it's you who's making the minis, they're awesome and if people don't like your interpretation, well, they can try their hand at it themselves ;)

Cool idea. "Crawl: the Tabletop game", using modified WH40k rules. Just kidding they would have to be Crawl rules ofc. Sort of like Space Hulk but without the space or the hulks.

I still enjoy making plasticine models occasionally :D

But I never got well with green stuff :S it's too sticky. Nor do I want to put plastic stuff inside the oven where I cook my food :(((

Your models are professional quality, ya know? You could sell them to table top gamers (unpainted) for a little pocket money, if you were so inclined.
