War gargoyles -> reflavored as Wargoyles, emphasis on the "Warg" part of the name. 1.) Give them a wolf-like head and 2.) an ability to howl similar to the formerly-trunk spirit wolves, summoning hellhounds and those awesome lightning wolves from out of line of sight for a period of time.

Molten gargoyles -> rename to Chargoyles. Cuz they char you.

Introduce a new gargoyle subspecies -> Gargle-goyles. Instead of a conjuration spell like other 'goyles, they shoot a phial of floods effect

Maragoyles -> A mix of a gargoyle and a rakshasa. Or maybe they do something so awful that, like Mara, the best thing to do is avoid them.
