Letter Shortage for Gods

It is clear that via gradual addition of new gods to the game, their total number should one day reach the sacred value of 27.
However, by Crawl tradition, all gods must have letters beginning with different letters, and there are only 26 letters in the alphabet.

Eventually, we'll have to double up a letter (blasphemy!) or use some non-standard letter type thing in the name of the 27th god.

Given the supreme importance of this issue to all future Crawl development, we'd better start brainstorming now.

Possibilities:

Name starting with an apostrophe: 'Ngurdik, God of Mispronounciation (may step on Kikubaaqudgha's toes)

Use Æ for something: Ænatholma, God of Pretentiousness

Name starting with foreign letter: Ølreth, God of Lutefisk

Rename Gozag to $wagzag and use G for something else.

Avoid mentioning the name of one god:
"You kneel before the suspiciously nondescript altar. Would you like to join the associated god? (y/N)"
"Your god appreciates your lack of curiosity."
"You die. Your god erases all memory of you from the world."

The shining one is already represented by "1" and thus this problem has been solved.

A more interesting question is if they'll allow a "2" god, etc.

A nameless god, perhaps one of oblivion and forgetfulness, might be interesting... bit of an interface hassle in some places, I guess.

That said, there's enough letters (and a number) for 27 gods. Aside from the mythological importance of 27 in Crawl, that's also a whole bunch of gods to worry about. The devs would probably end up cutting gods before bothering to run out of letters.

and the 3 god is really 1 god but he's also 3 in a way and noone really gets it so monsters entering your los are confused
