If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Species: Wraith

Misty, shadowy undead creatures who float through the dungeon. They can wear armour and wields weapons, but not as well as a Human. They do need to eat...souls. Killing normal living enemies feeds their hunger passively. They cannot eat normal food, but potions are still effective as long as it pours it over itself.

Re: Species: Wraith

So, a slightly less terrible mummy? I'm OK with that.

Re: Species: Wraith

I like the proposal, I just have a few things:

Is it still possible to starve? So, say, Abyss is even more lethal than usual?

Also the instrinsics seem to be very powerful, maybe there is another way to counterbalance this instead of giving -30% hp?

In addition I think a Wraith-Species has plenty of room for unique abilities, like "passwalling" through walls, some intrinsic invisibility-ability, an intrinsic fear-ability, etc. pp.

Re: Species: Wraith

I'm not very keen on the abysmal melee aptitudes across the board.

Re: Species: Wraith

I think a few of the melee attributes are oK, but judging by their health mallus and their fighting of -2, I don't think melee would be a particularly good idea with this race.

I'd probably pick up a mace at least as a back-up weapon. Especially since they slow anyone they hit that is living(orcs/elves/etc.)

Re: Species: Wraith

Re: wraiths and weapon aps Id expect at least a good long blades apt. And re: passwall that seems like an obvious and good ability for something that is essentially a Ghost. (Though not a player Ghost. Wonder how that would work...you encounter a mighty WrCj ghost...?) Also regarding food vs hunger... I would think like all undead they can't die so all hunger would do would be to stultify their abilities a bit.
==edit again==
Could even tie their hunger to their apts with the worse the hunger state the worse their apts get and the more satiated they are the better their apts get within reason.
