Remove reform

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Remove reform

DCSS is flawless right now. Any attempt at reform is therefore meaningless and should not exist.

Remove Devs

SGrunt is right, and we have to stop the devs from breaking their perfect work.

Re: Remove reform

Since we can't accomplish anything through reforms, I propose a good old communistic revolution.
take it easy

Did you know that I like ruining crawl every now and then? Go check it out.

As a Hippie I take exception to this: Conservative reactionaries are the ones against Reform. Us hippies love reformation.

Trunk = main branch for new implementations. It's existence allows players to test said implementations. It is the advanced peak if you will at possible future iterations of Crawl. Or at least that is my understanding based on the term's general meaning and how it works in Crawl.

Re: Remove reform

Personally I would prefer new content. It seems like a lot of the reforms that are being done are... well, to put it in the nicest way I can think of I think it seems like a push to dumb the game down.

I'm sorry, I just can't think of a nicer way to put it. I mean, I'll admit I liked that you removed knives, and removing the need to have a bladed weapon in hand to carve meat is also nice, but at the same time it feels like a part of what made the game cool is gone. It was complicated, but it was realistic.

And a lot of the reforms aren't so nice as that. It seems like with each update the game gets shorter and shorter, more cool things get removed, more flavor gets squashed...

...but I'd be willing to forget all that if you gave us back katanas. :3

The point was that if, as the dev suggests, "DCSS is flawless", then we would not need a medium through which to test new implementations. If it is in fact perfect, then .14 would be the definitive version, and we would never need to even consider modifying it.
