I'd estimate that only one in a hundred games do I actually notice something a monster says. It would be more entertaining to me if the speech was all put into another page of the description, so I could read it at liesure, that it is to have the messages print while I'm attacking them.

Of course, I preferred reading strategy guides to actually playing games in the Final Fantasy and Zelda series, because it was more fun to read about the possibilities than to actually encounter any of them.
