proposal: Xom Wonderland
I think it is a logical mistake that you can join the xom religion and be his toy. And quit when when you want. He is the god and decide!
It would be more interesting when there is at the beginning(1-3level) portal to Xom Wonderland. A big Party!!! A place of great benefits and great disatvantage afterwards ( you know in every good fantasy book is a party at the beginning)
And of course Xom is the party king. Going throw portal is like joining his religion.And your behavior on the party influenced how xom look at you for the rest of the game.
The wonderland is really a wonderland, with good stuff(much gold,really good items-("wow!!The lance "wyrmbane", should i take it?") and tons of potions!!!
And random party events like-
Xom:"And now we are all drinking from the fountain of bad mutation! And look what happens!"
Or the famous poisen drinking competition, - Troll warrior: "no problem."
and such funny party games
And xom reconize how you act. Are you a mutant wreck at the end, he likes interested in you and helps you...- sometimes.Are you boring ...-why did you went there. Are you stealing the gold and and the good Items, YOU ARE A TOY!
Or are you even the better party king than xom?!!...!!!
So it is a stage where you have to chose wisely. And perhabs it is better for you not to pick every gold coin and item.
