April Fool's Realization

After playing a MiPa yesterday, who is still alive fwiw, I've come to really appreciate how much BETTER Crawl is now than it was back in the "good 'ol days."

Thank you devs!

also plz bring back mountain dwarves

Re: April Fool's Realization

Yeah, 0.14 really is the strongest version of the game thus far. The branch changes alone have given the game new life.

Re: April Fool's Realization

Yeah, this is too true. I started playing back when the game was still v0.5, and I remember having lots of fun in that version all the way up to the current version. When they released the nostalgia mode, I played it expecting to have lots of fun, but strangely... it was boring. After two games I went back to normal trunk.

Re: April Fool's Realization

Well, it's actually funny to see how different features have been mixed - e.g. long old branches with new monster and so on.

Anyway I'm very happy most branches have been heavy shorten /totally cut, because nowadays most of time a 3 rune game feel waaaaaaaaaaaay to long and I can't really believe some years ago there was things like elf:7 or vault:8 (ugh I'm going to suicide before take that rune!)

On the other hand.... in 0.14 you can't get properties on artifact like
  Code:
the amulet "Uskiygg" (around neck) {Inacc -Tele rPois rN+ AC+7 EV+4}

Or amulet of resist slow or Ogre Magi or Gray Elf...
I hope this branch last some days more, I want to win at least a couple of extinct races :D
screw it I hate this character I'm gonna go melee Gastronok

I will say that while there are a few things I wish the devs hadn't removed, on the whole I think each version of Crawl is better then the previous.

Re: April Fool's Realization

I just had an absolute moment of terror when I tried to play my ongoing game and it instead took me to the select your character page.

I'm realllllly hoping this is AF related and not something permanent.

I know that. I'm saying that the things I remembered being fun in older versions don't seem so fun anymore now that I've tried them again after having played recent versions of the game.
