I manage to get a DEBe to midgame and then feel like sitting next to an Orc Knight with 20hp. Why the fuck did I do that, I had two dozen potions of heal wounds, too. Would of been a neat 3 runer.

Just what I was lacking...
This was the first major set of demons, summoned because I let the Elf vault get a bit unruly.
Actually I already had rMut, but had use-identified an amulet of faith, so didn't want to switch, and was trying to break LOS with summons.

Thanks to evilmike for 'Okawaru Armory', or evilmike_iron_armoury. I've encountered this vault before, and it's usually pretty good loot, but I've never encountered it on D11 before. I was still looking for Lair.

Most vaults that have a large depth range weight monster spawns to adjust the difficulty according to when it spawns. Turns out this particular vault's most shallow settings still involve orc warlords and centaur warriors, even when it spawns on D11.

I love whoever made this vault so crazy. It was like a mini Orc: 5. I managed to kill them after many tries, but I'd be afraid to try it out without the army I had. There was like a dozen Priests alone! Definitely harder then most of the orc entrance vaults I've seen.

I love it when a tree set on fire + berserk with kill extensions allows me to take out much of the swamp dragon/hydra swamp ending with a single berserk and over half a dozen kills.

I hate it when Boris is hanging out with them, and makes zombies out of all of the ones I just killed while I'm slowed and exhausted.

I love it when an Orc Warrior spawns with a wand of polymorph other when my SENe is XL5, I somehow kill him and get DEX -1, berserkitis (not a big deal) and Fast Metabolism 2 (potentially a big deal)... then on the very next floor find an Amulet of the Gourmand.

The RNG taketh away, but sometimes the RNG also giveth.

(Better yet, there's a potion of cure mutation in a shop, just need to find a bunch more gold )

You berserk packs of blinking monsters? You _really_ need to change that habit.

Sometimes it isn't so bad. It is better to berserk a pack of blinking monsters than a single blinking monster, actually, since you can nearly always hit a blink frog instead of moving. However, it's usually better if you can do without, of course.

I think my string of MiBes getting to Lair ruined my perception of blink frogs; since they couldn't actually kill me, they were just annoyances, and not the hardest single-headed things in Lair.

Im hoping to win... currently sitting with 11 runes, need to get gehennas, cerebovs, lom lobons, and the tombs. Got some nasty mutations, but scumming pan and zigs have netted me enough cure muts to fix myself. Games on autopilot at the moment with 53 AC, 39 EV and the ability to cast phase shift on top of that. Working on controlled blink at the moment. Not much threatens you with a +9 Blessed Blade and that high defenses, not to mention blinking.

Edit: Oh and having 9 wands of hasting doesnt hurt...
