While, not familiar with the idea of a forge god, I like the concept of upgrading weapons through god's abilities as an alternative to god gifts. Instead of getting new weapons each time, one can get the ability to create an artifact from any piece of weapon/armour

These can appear in the same fashion as Vehumet's spell gifting.

*** Forge armour (grants a random armour piece, much like a nerfed god gift)
**** Forge weapon (grants a random brand + enchant weapon III scroll, can only be used on non-branded weapons)
***** Create artifact, once per game (creates and artifact from an ego or plain weapon/armour?, grants it random enchantment bonus, intrinsics and name)

Weapon of bloodthirst: Gains "foo slaying." foo = last enemy whose blood you spilled.

(Like the theme but unfortunately this would be grindy and kind of annoying to keep track of... so not really a viable suggestion. An unrandart that increased noticeably in power as a kind of auto-buff, scaling up as you shed more and more blood, might be kind of cool though.)

I wasn't thinking, "adds +acc and +dam permanently," but more like, the weapon gets a buff that eventually times out, when *any* blood is spilled. So it could start as a +0 battleaxe, but when any blood has been spilled, becomes +5 vorpal; a good deal of bloodshed gives +9 vorpal; with tons of bloodshed it can even temporarily become +9 vorpal *and* speed branded. But this requires actually getting some blood splatter from hitting enemies with it. Hitting enemies with it while it is buffed keeps it going longer, if you go for too many turns without attacking, it powers down one step, then after another X number of turns, reverts to +0 battleaxe.

I think Elyvilon should allow vampire worshippers as long as they don't actually drink blood.

Zin should allow vampire worshippers as long as they only drink the blood of animals, like Twilight.

Zin should allow demonspawn worshippers as long as they refrain from gaining levels.

It's well known that the player character's role vis–à–vis the population of the dungeon is that of paranoid genocidal maniac. Starting with turn one, the character slaughters everything he can and runs like a rabbit from everything he cannot. He also steals anything he wants.

This catalog of theft and murder naturally incurs a huge burden of sin. The character is guilty, even if he wins. This guilt is why dead players come back as ghosts: they have been condemned to haunt the locus of their crimes for eternity, or at least until they themselves are murdered in their turn by the next unhinged killer who enters the dungeon. And the sins of the fathers are visited also upon the sons.

Therefore there is a pressing need for redemption, for liberation from the endless cycle of mindless butchery. My god proposal is intended to remedy this gaping lacuna in the dungeon's moral architecture.

Flavor: god of forgiveness of all sins

Likes: repenting, especially if you've already sinned a lot

Dislikes: not repenting. being lukewarm about him.

Conduct: When you worship this god, you are given a chance to repent of your sins and be freed from the threat of damnation/returning as a ghost. If you backslide, you can repent again, pretty much endlessly. But your repentance has to be serious.

Abilities:
** can convert others, bringing them the same benefits you will receive
****** you will not produce a ghost after you die. also, your conscience will be clean forever. you have to die with 6 piety though.
