Charming beasts

If you give a beast (jackal, dog, wolf, bear, etc) a meat ration or chunk (throw or drop) it should become neutral. If you give it a second ration, it should become an ally.

Re: Charming beasts

If you give a quokka a chunk, it is bound to want some blood.

If you give a quokka some blood, it will want a dead adder for a chew toy.

Re: Charming beasts

OP reminds me of the hundreds of trolls i sent to death trying to get the cute puppy as a first kill. I don't think i ever even got to dwarf town with one of the very few who survived to talk to the tiny girl a second time. Those were the days

If you give a quokka a potion of blood, he'll probably ask to take a selfie with you...

And if you feed it after it picked up an item and brought it to you, it will learn to steal items for you from shops... no wait. Nethack is that way ----->

Well, both source codes are freely available, so all it takes is someone to do it :)

Re: Charming beasts

Unnethack also has a better interface. For instance, if you drop a bag on an altar, all the items inside are B/U/C identified. I think there is also autoexplore.
