I <3 Orb of Destruction!

If it doesn't fit anywhere else, it belongs here. Also, come here if you just need to get hammered.

Re: I <3 Orb of Destruction!

The Orb of Destruction is my favorite single target spell. I find that the chunks that spew out of whatever it kills more than makes up for the spell hunger.

OoD...

Orb of Destrcution...
Out of Depth...

EDIT: Also, it is versatile in that it can be used as a digging spell.

Or as an (expensive) butchering tool :)
<+Grunt> You dereference an invalid pointer! Ouch! That really hurt! The game dies...

I've picked up OoD for the first time in my current game, exploding Rupert with it was most satisfying. :D

Re: I <3 Orb of Destruction!

When I first read about OoD, I passed due to its weird rules on doing damage. However, Boris was kind enough to show me how the spell was supposed to work. Fortunately, I got away with 2 hp. Now I think I've gotta try it next time I have a conjurer. I also learned that Blink + cTele towards it is the best way of dodging it.

Having finally just learned Shatter, I now have a new, new love. First level 9 spell ever, and wow, what a beast!

Aaaaannd then I died.

Teleportitis + ctele is awesome, except for on Elf 5.

Re: I <3 Orb of Destruction!

Surprisingly, orb of destruction can be fun on the receiving end as well.

I just had a run in with an ancient lich who fired off a salvo of 'em, which lead to some frantic blink-dodging, ducking behind walls, and slaming of doors. Much scenery destroyed. Crazy fun.

Personally I'm just waiting for the chance to pull off the old homing attack reversal- when you trick homing ordinance into returning to sender (aka, blowing up Mycon Podships 101). I wanna blast an ancient lich with his own orb of destruction!

Yes. But there is a good and a bad way to find this out

That sounds like a setup for a Sprint map. Re-create the lobby shootout from The Matrix! (Recommended build: Spriggan anything, preferably a stabby one.)
You fall off the wall. You have a feeling of ineptitude.
