Having lost the last mummy that got this far to merfolk javelins I have some questions on where to take this character.

Spells
is poison cloud worth keeping? It seems like there are very few situations I'd want to use it over freezing cloud.
Airstrike seems to do significantly less damage than throw icicle. Should I replace it with throw icicle as my mundane damage spell?
is deflect missiles a big enough improvement over repel missiles to justify the extra 4 spell slots?
I've mostly been training Conjurations, Ice, and Air and just recently charms for deflect missile and flight but are there any other spell schools I should be training?

Items
I found a rod of demonology. Is it worth it to train evocations to be able to use abjuration reliably or should I wait for Sif to gift it to me in spell form?
I have a scroll of acquirement what should I do with it? I was thinking jewelry or armour.

Where to next
Orcish mines then hive. After that the vaults seems like the next safest location but I'm up for suggestions.

CIP = Character in progress.
Which raises the question of where to post requests for advice about characters in progress.
Should it be here or should it be in the dungeon crawling advice section or should that section be for more general advice.

I like having both freezing and poison cloud. Nothing like fighting a unique who is both poisoned and standing in freezing vapour.
I'd go with Throw Ice over Airstrike. The only thing Airstrike has going for it smite-targeted, and that's not much.
I'd use acquirement for jewelry. Slightly better chance for something good.

As for the rod of demonology, I would. Trade one item slot for leaving some spell slots open. And a backup in case of running out of MP. Not to mention, considering Sif Muna's books are usually weighted on your skills, you could be waiting a while. Evocations could also help since, being a mummy, you rely more on wands.
Could also do Elf right after Orc. Poison and freezing cloud tear up elven halls. And if you go with the rod you have a way to deal with any resistant summoned demons, too.

The others I can't offer advice about.
