Well, I wouldn't ask the question if I was with Chei

I am going to use it also but this is my best game with Gr so I am not sure what to expect.

I think it is fine short term armour; given where you are in the game, having ~40 AC probably makes ponderous not that crippling. I would swap it out for some other sort of plate (since you're going heavy armour) or good chain mail around the time you get to Vaults, or maybe even Orc:4.

The armour made it impossible to run from 4 Death Yaks so it can kill me eventually. I think I will use another plate armour when I am low on piety and cannot call strong BiA

I really liked last minutes of the game, I experienced
1) joy
2) disappointment
3) perplexity and fear
4) joy again
5) disappointment and amazement,
everything during a couple of minutes...
1) I found FDA in Volcano
2) But I cannot wear it because I have no rC+ source so I drop it because of weight
3) I got cast into Abyss by an orc (distortion weapon I guess), I am XL 16 character with slow movement without alternative body armour
4) Found an exit in less than 15 turns
5) The exit is a mimic (I have not been aware of such mimics)
You can actually see it all in message log.
Great game even if I will not survive Abyss...

I didn't have much food in Abyss do I decided to eat chaos crab chunk. It gave me AC+1, HP+3% mutation.
After clearing Orcs 4 I continued exploring main dungeon but soon I saw that a pack of Centaurs in the open can kill me therefore I equipped +3 plate armour with rN+. Hopefully it will be a standard game going forward.

Damn, Trog has just granted me Plutonium Sword and this is first time when I see the item before ziggurats. Too bad M&F does not provide crosstraining for Long Blades, otherwise I might be tempted to use it. I don't have much to train as Be any way.
I changed armour again, now I am in IDA. I have a nice +6 dire flail with rF++ and I still have no rC+ so I decided to enchant IDH.
I have weird impression that Flight effects melee, the character deals significantly less damage to the same monsters after I finally had activated the ability.

I entered Forest for the first time. It is extremely dangerous indeed, now I see why many players avoid it, glad I did not enter it with weaker characters. I am going to wear Faerie Dragon Armour until I find enchant armour scrolls, AC 49 EV 30 is about the same as AC 53 EV 27 but I really need that Acc +4, Dam +6 boost and I am tired of removing curse when my only source of rF+ sticks to my hand.

It is hard to maneuver in Forest and Vaults so I am often attacked by several monsters simultaneously (by ranged attacks mostly) so it is more important to take little damage while I am advancing.

I found a weird round room on D25. I tried every possible stairs from D24 and D26 but I cannot enter the room. There are no hatches on D24/D26 and I don't have cTele. I have antenna mutation (unlucky potion of beneficial mutation) and it looks like there are no monsters either. I can't break metal walls and scroll of magic mapping was not helpful. What is the purpose of the room?

Edit. Oops, there can be some hatch on D26 in unexplored territory.
Edit2. No, still no hatch. Should I report a bug?

Antennae is bad for the character because the character is extremely unstealthy and lost 5 AC and a brand.
I called it unlucky because I lost helmet slot on D24, cured the mutation and lost the same slot again on D26:

Just hats. I didn't have enough enchant armour scrolls to enchant my IDA. Trove required +2GDA but I could not enter it because of enchant armour scrolls
