CiP HEFE - question about V5 -> YAVP

Hi all, i hope you are having a great day.

Lately I've been having some problems with V5, I think my three latest promising characters have died there. To avoid continuing this streak I have come for guidance - what is the best way of clearing V5 with this character? (tips in general are welcome as well!)

What I am thinking now is to go down hasted/Rmis and just nuke away with firestorm until it gets unsafe - then stairdance. However this leaves me open to constriction and paralyze, so it feels kind of risky.

I have seen other people run into a corridor and set up camp in on of the outer corridors - is this safer?

What would you guys recommend?

All four quadrants open up onto the central stair area. Standing there making a ton of noise is not a good idea unless you can manage to kill the entire level all in one go. The new vault guardians can lock the stairs and call in reinforcements, making standing still even more dangerous.

Haste and swiftness will let you get past the welcome party, then you can draw them away and pick them off without waking the entire floor. Do you have a ring of fire anywhere? That would serve you much better than a ring of magical power at this stage of the game.

It's best to use magic mapping + cTele into outer corridor, although it looks like you don't have that, so haste + RMsl before descending, then blink (possibly more than once), then run to corridors. Try to make only moderate noise when fighting the welcome party there, as you may get attacked from behind by other monsters. Avoid standing in one place in the corridor for too long and keep backing off slightly till no more enemies come in. Then return to the center (best done with different route than on the way out) and work into the quadrants, probably starting with the ones that were closer to your fighting area, as the monsters there have higher chance to be woken up and ambush you elsewhere.

Thanks for the advice, I found a cTele-ring in Elven Halls and used it to tele to a corner. All went fine until I met a draconian ghost which was way too hard for me. I managed to escape and pick up the slime rune instead
