Hi guys. I'm still striving to play with DrIE. This character seems not bad to me. Please advise what skills to develop. Should I spend EXP to melee skills now? What weapon to choose? Staves?

It's really up to you to decide whether to continue to focus on spells or branch into melee.
Your Throw Icicle is still far from max power, so you can still put xp into Conj & Ice, and then upgrade to bolt of cold when you find the spell.
That would be my preference.
If you want to branch into melee, maybe see what weapons you have come across so far, and find the biggest thing you can use..

Looks ok spell-wise. Pick up the useful utility spells too if you can find them.
I'd use the wizardry ring over sustenance so that Bolt of Cold is more reliable. There should be enough chunks to eat.
And do toss your bread rations on the ground somewhere.. you don't need so many of them in your pocket :)

That's a nice looking character :)

I don't have much advice on skills. Like hxy said, swap the ring and pick up some defensive / buffing spells if you have them. You might already know, but in case you don't, I will say that swamp is extra fun with bolt of cold. It creates freezing clouds when it crosses water, and many swamp enemies (hydras!) will swim through the clouds.

He's dead. I had no means to kill the deep elf blademaster. All the spells including Iron shots missed (he was too evasive). I think I should have used the Teleport wand, but I was afraid to be teleported directly inside a room full with elfs.

You had you need to annihilate him (and all elf:3 for what it matters). Both of them doesn't check ev.
Btw, when you have a DE blademaster in the face, you want your buff up - you hadn't haste (bad), but at least you had Ozocubu's Armour...

Bummer!

What nago said, plus I notice you took some hits while eating. In tough places, it pays to make sure you keep your satiation level up. Go in full and retreat a little if you need to eat more. If you do accidentally kick yourself into a state where you need to eat ASAP, go for something small that takes less time to eat.
