I've mostly finished Lair (entrance to Slime blocked by 2 oklobs), so taking a minute to pause and figure out what to do with my character. My skills are kind of all over the place. A few lucky book finds (Ice Form early, then a book with Statue and Dragon Form) convinced me to go Transmutations, and I trained UC and Tm with that in mind. But the I found boots of running and figured that a conjuration kite-and-run style would make the most of this item. I find this style kind of boring though (primarily, sitting around waiting for mana to recharge) and I've found Ice Form still pretty effective despite the boots getting melded.

So, I've put all my found spell books in my inventory, which direction would you take this character? I have 11 spell slots free, and 1 ?amnesia. I've also seen Book of Power and Book of Annihilations in a shop, so powerful conjurations are an option too.

On Ash, I just got 6* piety, so I'm planning to uncurse some items. I initally cursed some fairly crappy jewelry, and now have much better options (slaying, regen, Shaolin). Trouble is, I don't have a single ?curse jewelry - other than the ones I used to curse my initial set, I've been unlucky with those (I keep getting curse weapon/curse armour when I convert remove curse). Is it worth losing the magic skill boost to swap in better jewelry?

Also, I'm planning to uncurse my weapon, so that wielding chunks for sublimation or using staff of channeling is now an option.

Any advice welcome.

I would pray over one more remove curse. If that makes curse jewellery, uncurse both rings, put on shaolin and slaying, and curse one - probably shaolin. If it doesn't, I'd uncurse the Str ring and put on shaolin.

Uncurse your weapon at the same time of course, if you're going to do that anyway.

you don't need to run back and blast monsters to make boots of running good - they just let you move around easily, and escape many fights easily.

you should basically never have more transmutations than UC if you're using UC to hit things. (This character probably would rather use a weapon for backup than UC/transmutation - I'd consider Transfer Knowledge either from or to UC). If you stay with conjurations, pick up Iron Shot from the book of power.
