yavp, TrCk Xom all the way
Possibly the most amusing moment was in zot5. I was taking things veery slowly, as xom was being extra mean. Xom wasn't happy with that. I start resting from some xom torment or something, and "xom has mutated you". Ok, 50% life taken, I hit rest again, and immediately "Let's go on a journey!". Bam, I end up 3 spaces from the orb.
On a learning note, I felt I did better by not wasting xp on spells early/mid game. I didn't find any support spells until after lair/orc, so it forced me to focus on melee. I also had pretty terrible luck on the equipment, I think I only got 4 eas all game. Fortunately xom gave me a half decent steam dragon armour to boost my AC. That with a swiftness mutation+phase shift got me through most of end game.
Favorite level was the crypt 5 ending: a lava sea filled with flying skulls and a drawbridge into a fortress. Ok that sounds pretty generic after I type it, but it felt cool when I did it.
