CiP: MiBe now YAVP (my first!)
Update: I won and I had a blast!
I learned a lot and I have to thank the community really; the wiki and this forum made it possible for me to navigate Zot relatively easily until the final vault. Twice there, I was this close to death but chose the correct tactic each time to recover. I should also thank Trog and of course the RNG; his gift of the artefact "Xuel" eveningstar really made the midgame easy and BIA saved me at the very end, giving me time to heal up behind a berserking ogre. I didn't know what to expect from the ascent, I thought I'd only see a couple of Pandemonium Lords, and that I'd be able to control teleport, so I was surprised and had a moment or two of suspense, but all ended up well -- I even managed to pick up some of the artefacts I found along the way.

This is my best run ever. I've cleared D:1-27, seen the door to Zot for the first time, handed Mennas and Mara their heads, etc. I haven't cleared the last levels of Spider, Swamp, Slime, or Vaults yet, seems like that is the next thing I need to do. I'd rather win with 3-runes than go for extended at this point, having never gotten this close before.
Questions:
My best anti-magic weapon is a +3,+4 spiked flail. Should I be carrying it for what I am about to attempt?
I have 5 enchant armor scrolls and a storm dragon hide. Would that be better than my +4 SInv artefact plate ?
No rMut, rCorr, hasting anywhere, so what must I especially look out for in Zot?
Thoughts on ring selection for various tasks?
Thoughts on skill training?

Previously,
This is my best run ever. I've cleared D:1-27, seen the door to Zot for the first time, handed Mennas and Mara their heads, etc. I haven't cleared the last levels of Spider, Swamp, Slime, or Vaults yet, seems like that is the next thing I need to do. I'd rather win with 3-runes than go for extended at this point, having never gotten this close before.
Questions:
My best anti-magic weapon is a +3,+4 spiked flail. Should I be carrying it for what I am about to attempt?
I have 5 enchant armor scrolls and a storm dragon hide. Would that be better than my +4 SInv artefact plate ?
No rMut, rCorr, hasting anywhere, so what must I especially look out for in Zot?
Thoughts on ring selection for various tasks?
Thoughts on skill training?
