There were no monsters in sight!
This was easily my most fun playthrough ever. The whole run was stealth themed. The first half I would use invisibilty and other hexes to get stabs, but towards post game when that became too difficult, I'd use other tactics to retreat and ninja the Pan and Hell runes. I used a lot of Shatter to open up walls, apportation to snag the runes and cblink to make sure I'd stay safe. I also took advantage of Ashenzari's scrying ability to perfectly plan out my course of action before executing. Ashenzari is definitely my favorite God after this run. I actually managed to get the rune from Mnoleg and Ereshkigal without even waking them up, which made me feel pretty good since my whole goal with this character from the beginning was to be stealthy. I did have to rely on Iron Shot a lot towards the end, because I needed some form of offensive power for when it got overwhelming. Zot:5 had a particularly large amount of Orbs of Fire. I killed around 15. I also had to dive into my first Ziggurat, because I had no rMut and the only places I could go offered almost guaranteed mutations. I only went 10 floors down before getting what i came for, but it was fun while it lasted.
Other than that, the orb ascension was painfully dull. It took me less than 5 minutes. Spriggan movement speed made running with the Orb terribly simple. This combination is seriously amazing. I know SpEn is a tried and true classic, but I don't know how common it is to use Ashenzari with it. If it isn't, I can totally vouch for it being an amazing combination.
