First win MiBe (was Distortion or Anti-magic)

Could you please advise if it is better to use Distortion (-1,+1 Glaive) or Antimagic (+6+7 bardiche) for MiBe?
I have never used Distortion before.

Go with Bardiche over Glaive. The fact the Bardiche is anti-magic is a big plus. Carry that artefact glaive around as emergency rF++ and emergency SInv. For example, you switch to that glaive to walk up to a fire mage and then switch back to Bardiche to kill it.

Yes, speed bardiche was very strong recently. When I tried it at lower levels it was not that great because it was missing a lot (-3 to-hit "enhancement" and -6 to-hit modifier from being a bardiche) . When I trained some fighting (about 10), polearms to 26 and equipped Acc+4 randart ring, it was really great. But now I have problems with mages mostly so I wear antimagic as default weapon.
I mistakenly entered Vault 5 (first time in 0.12 so I forgot it was changed to have 5 floors) wearing antimagic weapon. I think speed would be really great there indeed.

Yep. I got 9 Evo after I had found I got Shoals for my ring of flight. Now I use it for Blink also.
Here is the latest dump, I have just got 3rd rune and now I am considering either to enter Zot and win or to get deeper into Crypt or try Elf since I am very lucky with escaping Abyss so far. I am not sure about trove, I only got a trove mimic, is it possible that trove is not present in the dungeon?
Also I replaced artefact plate armor with FDA, losing some minor points in Ac but greatly increasing EV since that plate armor was decreasing my Dex.

I had a DEFE who had 12 runes and cleared 2 ziggurats but that was in 0.11 with overpowered Summon Dragons so I quit that game.

Let's settle for "moving to the optimal position" then. There isn't always a convenient corner to lure a ranged mob towards.

I found Lantern of shadows is often more useful than rF+++ when fighting fire mages. If I see a mage just at the edge of my LOS, I usually equip Lantern of shadows instead of immediate retreating or equiping rF+++ weapon.

As people have said, the bardiche looks like one of the best weapons in the game for your character and I like the idea of a nice weapon with +Blink and SInv as a swap! :-)

The other thing I'd add is that I think a weapon swap is fast.
I like the rF from fire dragon armor on that character if you're heading to Zot soon.
Personally I'd probably change those gloves, as I don't think 7 Int is too risky.

I think weapon swap always takes 0.5 aut.
I have just found the gloves at the same floor (Vault 5), before that I was wearing plain 0 gloves so current gloves increase AC by a bit. I am not sure how much +3 strength affects Bardiche damage, I thought it almost doesn't.

My first win.

When entering Zot I had 3 Cure Mutation potions and 2 Mutation Potions so I was not too afraid of possible mutations despite missing rMut. It was unusual game of mutations though, during middle game there was a moment when I had slow movement 1, deteriorating body 1, fast metabolism 2, blurry vision 1 and berserkitis 1. It started from slow movement after wearing Trog's gift with contamination, I kept eating mutation chunks trying to remove bad mutations and most of the game I had a really nice mutation set of cold resistance 1, -10% mp, AC +4, EV +2, Str +1, berserk 1 (quite manageable for a Be)

I was (un)lucky to get my first ring of slaying in Zot 2 (+4, +4) and a really nice amulet with +4 Dam in ZoT2 too so most dragons died in 2-3 attacks of my +6,+5 dragon slaying glaive after that. I was really surprised how long it takes to kill a single OOF, every Orb of Fire took about 7 attacks of my best weapon (+8,+8 anti-magic bardiche). I did not use berserk though to keep my escape options available. Perhaps speed bardiche would kill them quicker but I wanted to stop their spells. I tried wearing stasis amulet in Crypt 5 to prevent berserkitis but I did not feel safe because it took too much time to use controlled teleportation.

I started training T&D in ZoT5 only, when having 27 in Polearms, Armor and Fightinh and 26 in Dodging and still I did not get any paralyze/glow effects from those 4 ZoT traps I stepped in. So I guess I will keep ignoring T&D skill. Ironically when I played a DEFE with T&D 9 I got glow (and a really bad mutation) in the very first ZoT trap I encountered in ZoT.

Now I am looking forward to playing CeHu again. All my CeHu's died before Vaults in 0.11 but hopefully positioning experience which I got with MiBe will help to survive my next CeHu.
