mace of brilliance and gold dragon armour, one after the other.
This guy is going to get killed by something really nasty real soon. In the meantime nothing forbid me to dream and to fulfill my dreams I need your help: what to do next? I guess the mace isn't a good weapon, isn't it? I shall starting put points into strenght in order to wear the armour uh? What if I want to plan on using 1h blunt + shield (I've already win with a MiFi using 2h axes so I'd love to change the recipe a little)?
Thank you for any suggestion, hoping to came back here while the toon is still alive :-)
cheers and happy holidays.

An important thing about weapons is the base damage which is quite low when you wield a mace (8). So the mace of Brilliance is a nice weapon in the early game but not for too long.

And this is much better! Its base damage is 13, so I'd drop the shield and fight with the dire flail.

A gold DA provides very good protection but has its drawbacks:

  • high spellcasting penalty
  • you'll lose lots of EV because a) gold DA has a high EV penalty for itself and b) you'll have to increase your Str instead of your Dex
If you intend to worhsip Trog all over the game the spellcasting penalty is not an issue of course. You might find another interesting armour but it's worth thinking about Str 27 and gold DA.

Re: [CIP] MiBe aka bad things always happens

Thanks a lot for your suggestions Targon!
Im so sad realizing this cool mace will not be a choice for too long and now im using it mainly to bash undeads.
Since i want to go one handed and shield this time I guess ill try to find an interesting eveningstar and go with it.
And since im aiming for a 3 runer i guess ill skip completely the spallcasting thing and go with the shiny gda the dungeon has so kindly gifted me :-)
At least until it will think that so much generosity has to be counterbalanced with things like a Nikola on floor 14...

Until you get that eveningstar, I suggest you use the dire flail and other 2h that come your way. It's not too late to train your shields after you find a viable 1h weapon.

Incidentally that mace is a stat-stick. Nice to hold, not so good to actually hit stuff with. Actually, I guess it would be good for casters for the +Int bonus but you don't care about that.

By the way, demon whips are stronger then eveningstars, so if you find one that's a better endgame weapon. They have a lower delay, so you will end up with 11/5 (2.2) damage/delay vs 14/7 (2.0) damage/delay with demon whip and eveningstar respectively.
The mace has pretty great accuracy since it provides you with a halo if I remember correctly. This could be relevant against some enemies.
For now, it is a much better idea to use the dire flail than a shield.

died in the damn f****ing vault 8, for being too confident.
I HATE this game, yes really, can you die this way on the night of Christmas? Apparently the RNG will get zero presents from Santas.
I'm so sad now, I wanted to share that with you all.
