YAVP FeHe: worst combo ever

This was probably one of the toughest games I've managed to win so far (it was significantly harder than MuAK, FeMo of Chei and MuAr of Chei for what's it's worth). It sounds ok at first but the loss of exp from pacification + the loss of exp from dying, plus your terrible melee, plus your lack of saprovore meaning that you are constantly on the verge of starvation, makes it quite less ok. It was definitely the worst game ever fun-wise. Here's how it went...
-pre-Lair I was running away from every third monster. I more or less dived to Lair, leaving half of the levels almost completely unexplored because I couldn't pacify anyone, was running out of food and had pathetic melee and HP. First near-death: hit to 1 HP by an ogre I was meleeing (if only it had managed to kill me, then I wouldn't have had to suffer through the rest of this game). On D:9, there was a dragon! Thanksfully I was swinging I finally made it to the D:11 Lair (free experience for healers, since animals are so easy to pacify), with one ration left or so.
-In an Ice Cave, I got 10 UC. This turned the game from hell to slightly less hell. I later raised that to 15, which was really bad later on. When I finally got Blade Hands, the game got better. But you really can't afford spending more EXP on melee, so grin and bear it.
And then I luckily did manage to acquire some royal jellies. All in all, I acquired food 3 times this game, and it was the right decision each time - without it I would have starved. I recommend doing this to any masochist willing to play this combo.
-My deaths were all really stupid. 1) Got paralysed by an orc wizard and a wand, very unpredictable death. Should have pacified him earlier though. 2) Got hit by a stone giant because golly I forgot how much damage they do at range. No excuses for this. 3) Stood next to a pacified iron troll in the open for one turn too much, got killed from like 50 HP - it would be funny if it wasn't so sad. 4) The worst death ever - opened door, sleeping Nikola behind said door wakes up and oneshots me without allowing a single action. For the record I hadn't seen him before.
-I cast Confusing Touch a lot. This spell is no fun at all, it's tedious and weak most times (it takes a lot of tries) but since you can cast it over and over it's not a problem. Should be changed (cooldown?) or removed IMO
-In Elf I got a gourmand amulet. This is probably one of the best items you can hope for as a FeHe (barring awesome gourmand artefacts), since with no food problems the combo is actually good because lol ely's op
-The highscore was 3 runes, but with less turns than this, and I wasn't confident that four runes (2 lair + Vaults + Abyss) would cut it either, so I went to Pan. First unique level: Cerebov's. I got the rune, but it was a disaster:
That early exit was fortunate, because, although I had Haste and cBlink and Elyvilon, I was way out of my depth.
-In Zot:5 I spent 2 turns at 66 HP next to two berserk orb guardians because I needed to do so to get the orb. Luckily I took 5 damage in these two turns. Since I was standing next to a teleport trap when I picked up the orb, I was fine.
-It says 5:41 hours (which is ages for me), but it felt like 20

This was probably one of the toughest games I've managed to win so far (it was significantly harder than MuAK, FeMo of Chei and MuAr of Chei for what's it's worth). It sounds ok at first but the loss of exp from pacification + the loss of exp from dying, plus your terrible melee, plus your lack of saprovore meaning that you are constantly on the verge of starvation, makes it quite less ok. It was definitely the worst game ever fun-wise. Here's how it went...
-pre-Lair I was running away from every third monster. I more or less dived to Lair, leaving half of the levels almost completely unexplored because I couldn't pacify anyone, was running out of food and had pathetic melee and HP. First near-death: hit to 1 HP by an ogre I was meleeing (if only it had managed to kill me, then I wouldn't have had to suffer through the rest of this game). On D:9, there was a dragon! Thanksfully I was swinging I finally made it to the D:11 Lair (free experience for healers, since animals are so easy to pacify), with one ration left or so.
-In an Ice Cave, I got 10 UC. This turned the game from hell to slightly less hell. I later raised that to 15, which was really bad later on. When I finally got Blade Hands, the game got better. But you really can't afford spending more EXP on melee, so grin and bear it.
And then I luckily did manage to acquire some royal jellies. All in all, I acquired food 3 times this game, and it was the right decision each time - without it I would have starved. I recommend doing this to any masochist willing to play this combo.
-My deaths were all really stupid. 1) Got paralysed by an orc wizard and a wand, very unpredictable death. Should have pacified him earlier though. 2) Got hit by a stone giant because golly I forgot how much damage they do at range. No excuses for this. 3) Stood next to a pacified iron troll in the open for one turn too much, got killed from like 50 HP - it would be funny if it wasn't so sad. 4) The worst death ever - opened door, sleeping Nikola behind said door wakes up and oneshots me without allowing a single action. For the record I hadn't seen him before.
-I cast Confusing Touch a lot. This spell is no fun at all, it's tedious and weak most times (it takes a lot of tries) but since you can cast it over and over it's not a problem. Should be changed (cooldown?) or removed IMO
-In Elf I got a gourmand amulet. This is probably one of the best items you can hope for as a FeHe (barring awesome gourmand artefacts), since with no food problems the combo is actually good because lol ely's op
-The highscore was 3 runes, but with less turns than this, and I wasn't confident that four runes (2 lair + Vaults + Abyss) would cut it either, so I went to Pan. First unique level: Cerebov's. I got the rune, but it was a disaster:

That early exit was fortunate, because, although I had Haste and cBlink and Elyvilon, I was way out of my depth.
-In Zot:5 I spent 2 turns at 66 HP next to two berserk orb guardians because I needed to do so to get the orb. Luckily I took 5 damage in these two turns. Since I was standing next to a teleport trap when I picked up the orb, I was fine.
-It says 5:41 hours (which is ages for me), but it felt like 20
