The usual "opening" is TrBe, right?
And then you switch to TSO?
I kind of decided to go for a more unconventional approach. Starting with TSO has its advantages: accuracy bonus (for those heavy maces and giant clubs), life protection, and shield with a 2-handed weapon.
The early game was fairly easy, the middle game was really hard (escaped twice from bad situations at 2HP) and the end-game was super easy. I got a +Blink armour early on which let me semi-control blink out of dangerous places and close in on ranged attackers if needed. Without it I would have been a sitting duck.
The real issue was building up F+ and C+ resistances. Once I got a golden dragon armour, it got easier.
